Rein and Blyn are ranged units. Unless the unit you're giving Poleaxe+ to has DC, this is a pretty bad idea.

So any other uses for it?

Not really, just keep him for Arena Assault, can be very helpful to take out Axe / Lance Horse units.

Rein and BLyn are ranged units, so you want poleaxe on a ranged unit... so keep it on Gerome? Am I interpreting that correctly?
Gerome functions fine as a meta slayer, so virtually anyone else with a poleaxe would do the same. Because it has fairly limited usage (not as versatile as, say, Slaying Axe+ or Giant Spoon+), you'd need to find a good candidate for it. My recommendation would be axes who otherwise struggle to find their niche (Camilla and Titania come to mind). I'm not a huge fan of the zanbato line, personally, since it really is designed for the main games, where you can carry several weapon types at once. So I'm not the best person to ask for this.
Nonetheless, Gerome doesn't have a monopoly on Poleaxe. In fact, with his speed, he should probably ditch it anyway.

No. I'm saying Rein and Blyn are the biggest threats among horse units, and they are both ranged units. Therefore Poleaxe should really only go onto units with Distant Counter. A unit with DC can counterattack even when attacked by ranged units.

Now that I gave it a second thought, Blyn's Sacae's Blessing prevents DC Axe units from counterattacking anyways, so there are very little usage for Poleaxe. It's just a not very useful weapon after all, therefore I advise against foddering Gerome off for it. He can do a fine job as a specialist in Arena Assault or GHBs where there are a lot of cavalry enemies (like this Arvis GHB).
